The 2011 / 2012 Wagga Mutual Credit Union Junior Sports Scholarship program is back and with over 100 submissions received last year we are hoping to bring the local junior sporting talent out of the woodwork in 2011.
Who is eligible? Any junior sports person aged between 12 years and 17 years who are looking to take the next step in their chosen field.
What sporting fields may apply? Absolutely any! Last year we received submissions from all the football codes, aerial skiing, Moto-cross, swimming, triathlon, boys and girls cricket, gymnastics, water polo, ball room dancing, apprentice jockeys, track & field and more. Local junior sporting talent literally came from everywhere.
What this said to us at Xceler8 was confirmation that this had to become a part of Wagga’s Annual Calendar.
Great news this year we are proud to announce Wagga Mutual Credit Union as the new Major Sponsor. With a strong sense of community Wagga Mutual were very keen to get on board to lend a hand in the development of our local junior sporting talent. We are very excited to be working with Wagga Mutual, like Xceler8 they are all about giving back to the local Community and this is yet another instance of them doing their part in another fantastic cause.
SUBWAY has given their support once again. Owner of SUBWAY Mark Canty has been an avid supporter of many Xceler8 driven programs and we are truly grateful to have them on board again.
Active Physiotherapy are back for the 2nd year providing the winning athletes with Sports specific musculoskeletal screening and gait scan analysis identifying injury risk factors and implementing injury prevention strategies to help the kids stay at peak performance..
Many thanks to Sportsman’s Warehouse have also come on board for the second year with an equipment sponsorship. Sportsman’s Warehouse is one of the biggest names in sporting equipment and we are very lucky to have their support once again.
This year we have secured another “all star” judging panel. Returning for the 2nd year Paul Kelly who needs no introduction, Olympian & Commonwealth Games expat Stacey Stone, Wagga Mutual’s Karen Garrod and special mention to star Judge Pottsy from Star FM who always seems to be taking his free time to help not only us but many charities and great causes throughout the Riverina. Duncan is only a phone call away and always eager to lend a hand and we are very grateful for his participation once again.
